Abstract: This talk examines some of the lessons learned during the design and writing of the expansion pack, "Titan Quest: The Immortal Throne," specifically shaping a narrative path, then widening the scope of the story through sidequests, subquests, and secret quests. How do you write a satisfying narrative that allows players to experience it in 10-30 second monologues? How do you incorporate visual storytelling, and storytelling through action? We'll look at some general techniques that are applicable to many games, regardless of the actual gameplay.
