Bio: Rob Lindeman joined the Department of Computer Science at WPI as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2005 in support of the newly formed IMGD major. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Professor in the CS Department at The George Washington University, where he also earned his Sc.D. in 1999. He is the coordinator of the HIVE (Human Interaction in Virtual Environments) Lab at WPI, and his research focuses on making VR and games more usable and effective. He likes to build things, including new interface devices and software frameworks. Evaluation through usability studies is a key component to success in this field, as are the development of measures of effectiveness, learning, and fun.
