Bio: Dr. Jeffrey L. Forgeng is Adjunct Associate Professor of Humanities at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Paul S. Morgan Curator at the Higgins Armory Museum. His work on play and games in cultural history includes Robin Hood: The Shaping of the Legend and Francis Willughby's Book of Games: A Seventeenth-Century Treatise on Sports, Games, and Pastimes. This presentation will look at theoretical understandings of play and games in human cognition and culture and their implications for the study of computergames.
